Hymns & Psalms

In this episode of God at Work, I take a look at how Charles Wesley’s spiritual renewal had an influence on his hymn writing. I also took a look at two of the hymns written shortly after his renewal.

Victory in Jesus

Today I take a look at a Gospel Music/Hymn writer that I came across while researching for the last two episodes on Albert E. Brumley. That song writer is the one who wrote “Victory in Jesus” and is Eugene Monroe Bartlett.

Albert E. Brumley

Today I decide to take a look at someone that as far as musical circles go is known more for being a Southern Gospel writer than a hymn writer. Although what is probably considered his most popular song is found in a number of hymnals and is popular among Baptists and Pentecostals. The person I am talking about is the writer of “I’ll Fly Away,” Albert E. Brumley.
