The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

This week I take a look at sin and how it is often those things that are seen as good that get twisted around to take our focus off of God.

The Unashamed Life

This week I continue with my radical series by looking at the faith of Paul, and how being the one person who knew what he was going to be facing due to his faith he was unashamed to share the Gospel.

Which Came First Theology or Philosophy?

This week I pick up from last month in talking more about Thomas Aquinas and more specifically his theological and philosophical beliefs.  In doing so I came to the conclusion that because they are so closely interconnected of questioning which came first his theology or his philosophy.

Lost in Translation

This week I discuss about how sometimes when presenting scriptures we tend to lose some of the original meaning due to translation.

I also talk about what I will be discussing through September including the theological and philosophical beliefs of Thomas Aquinas and continuing with the Radical Faith series by looking at Paul’s faith. I also talk about some changes I am considering making to the schedule in the new year.

No Longer Under the Law but Not Above the Law

This week I talk about how as Christians we may no longer be under the law but that does not make us above the law.

C.S. Lewis

This week I decided to take a look at the life of C.S. Lewis, who some consider to be one of the great modern theologians and Christian apologists.

Loving Our Neighbors as We Love Ourselves

This week I decided I would change things up a little bit. I still give an idea about what is coming up as far as episodes go for the month; as I will be talking about C.S. Lewis and Noah on the two scripted episodes. However, I decided I will include an unscripted segment to the first week of the month as well. So in this episode I talk about how can we love our neighbors when often times we do not know how to love ourselves?

We as a society are constantly being bombarded from every side with reasons to hate ourselves. Either we don’t measure up to a certain standard of beauty, or we aren’t smart enough, talented enough, successful enough, etc.; or we see in the media that because we don’t think, act, or believe a certain way we are more evil that Satan himself and should be ashamed of ourselves. When we are constantly facing this in the media it is easy to get into a place where we don’t love ourselves and thus makes it harder to love our neighbor. So what can we do?

Well I challenge myself as well as all of you to pray “Lord, help me to learn to love myself the way that You love me; so that I may in turn love my neighbors as I am called to do.”

Radical Faith

What does it really mean to be a Christian, and what does Lot’s wife have to do with explaining what Jesus meant in Luke 14:26? Well join me as I start a series for our Bible Message episodes on “Radical Faith.”

Unscripted on Denominations

After talking about J.R.R. Tolkien last week I got to thinking about how some might not consider Tolkien to be a Christian due to being Catholic, so I decided to give my opinion regarding Christian denominations and how at times we seem judgemental of those denominations that don’t fully agree with our own.

Why Good Friday?

This week I take a look at the question of why Good Friday was necessary by looking at Genesis 1.

If you have questions, prayer requests, comments, suggestions, or a story to share please feel free to call/text (727) 315-0830 or email stories@godatworkpodcast.com

I will be presenting the concept of Good Friday this month in two different ways. First for the history week we will look at why we call it Good Friday. Then with the Bible Study I will be looking at a deep and probably philosophical reason why Good Friday had to happen in the first place.
