This week I decided I would change things up a little bit. I still give an idea about what is coming up as far as episodes go for the month; as I will be talking about C.S. Lewis and Noah on the two scripted episodes. However, I decided I will include an unscripted segment to the first week of the month as well. So in this episode I talk about how can we love our neighbors when often times we do not know how to love ourselves?
We as a society are constantly being bombarded from every side with reasons to hate ourselves. Either we don’t measure up to a certain standard of beauty, or we aren’t smart enough, talented enough, successful enough, etc.; or we see in the media that because we don’t think, act, or believe a certain way we are more evil that Satan himself and should be ashamed of ourselves. When we are constantly facing this in the media it is easy to get into a place where we don’t love ourselves and thus makes it harder to love our neighbor. So what can we do?
Well I challenge myself as well as all of you to pray “Lord, help me to learn to love myself the way that You love me; so that I may in turn love my neighbors as I am called to do.”
