The Church and Her Holiness

This week/month I look at 1 Peter and discuss about what it has to say about the concept of holiness, and how Peter appears to define it as the outward expression of our hope within.

Martin Luther

This week I take a look at the person that many believe was the one to start the Protestant Reformation, Martin Luther.

Augustine of Hippo

This week I look at the life of Augustine of Hippo or better known as Saint Augustine. This was probably one of the people in church history that God working in their life is very apparent. It was just by a set of circumstances that Augustine became priest and later bishop in Hippo. He also attributed his conversion to a divine command to “Take up and read.” The one thing is without Augustine’s teachings and writings I am not sure how the Protestant Reformation would have looked as many of the reformers were influenced by Augustine’s theology.

Here are the main sites I used when researching about Augustine.

John Calvin and the Bible

This episode I look at John Calvin and how God used the Bible to shape Calvin’s theology and how this in turn became a view of Sola Scriptura or Scripture alone, where Calvin viewed God as working through the Scriptures to reveal Himself to the Christian.
